At ABM, we strive for our goals, strategies, and operations to embody the spirit of environmental stewardship while we provide quality service. Our stewardship commitment includes using innovative approaches for natural resource conservation while minimizing our impact on the environment. We understand that true success hinges on our ability to responsibly manage our environmental impact.
ABM partners with suppliers that are industry leaders in supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s stewardship program based on the 3R’s Initiative: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Their systems:
Recycle hundreds of manufactured products which meet or exceed EPA guidelines for post-consumer content.
Energy Services
ABM Energy Services has the "in-house" capabilities to develop, design, engineer, and implement innovative solutions that save energy, reduce operating costs, and improve building performance. We can:
- Identify "no to low cost" savings opportunities
- Provide "turn-key" process from feasibility analysis through implementation and financing
- Introduce the latest emerging technologies
- Track and coordinate government subsidy and utility rebate programs
- Provide Benchmarking for Energy Star and LEED programs
- Build re-commissioning programs
- Manage utilities.
ABM is also one of the largest participants in the EPA ENERGY STAR Program. ENERGY STAR is a government-backed program that offers real benchmarking and analysis for member companies. We analyze our clients’ buildings and recommend options to improve energy efficiency.
USGBC Membership and LEED-Certification
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization made up of leaders from every sector of the building maintenance industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible. With sustainability as their core purpose, their mission is to transform the way that buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated.
USGBC has designed the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™. This system is the nationally accredited benchmark for rating the operation of green buildings.
As a USGBC member, ABM is helping government officials, school campuses, high-tech manufacturing facilities, and large office parks take the initial steps toward a greener environment. At ABM, we have experience developing specific maintenance tasks and procedures to maintain and improve LEED certification.
As a company, we’re working together to monitor and assess our environmental impact, as well as assist clients as they take their first steps toward sustainability. We are committed to measurable improvement as we create a more sustainable approach to facility management.
