Training remains one of the most critical aspects in providing qualified and competent security personnel. Our objectives are to select the best people, place them in the most appropriate position, train them thoroughly, and motivate them through successful client service and professional growth.
We work towards these objectives through an integrated training program, which includes a variety of components and training mediums such as
classroom, interactive web based video, home study, and handbooks.

New Employee Orientation and Training

New employee orientation and training is scheduled immediately after applicants have successfully passed the ACSS selection process. This session takes place in the ACSS branch office and accomplishes two goals.

First, during the orientation new employees learn about ACSS, the company’s history, its policies, mission statement, and employee expectations. They complete the required company documentation and receive an information and benefits package.

Second, the training portion is designed to teach new employees the basic functions of the security role, and consists of four major topics:

• Importance of a Security Officer
• Security Officer Safety
• Report Writing
• Patrolling

Other topics covered in the first training class are:

• Characteristics of a “good” security officer
• Customer Service-introduction to the customers program
• Performance Evaluations
• Public Relations
• Responsibilities & Functions of the Security Officer

ACSS owns a video training library of more than 200 videos that are incorporated into the classroom training. Classes are conducted with the employee successfully completing a written examination. Incorrect answers are discussed to ensure the employee understands his or her errors.
